Face Acupuncture Is Safe than Botox

Can Face Acupuncture Really Make You Ageless?

Needle acupuncture techniques have long been known by people since centuries ago in China. Acupuncture is believed to be able to treat various diseases in humans ranging from back pain, headaches or even stomach problems. facial acupuncture

Usually the needle used is pierced to several points of the body, to stimulate certain muscles or nerves. However, later this technique began to be used for facial treatments.

Reporting from Healthline, acupuncturist and founder of the SKN Holistic Rejuvenation Clinic, Amanda Beisel said acupuncture on the face proved to be safer than surgery or botox. "Acupuncture works internally and naturally to optimize health while supporting skin appearance," he said.

With acupuncture techniques on the face can make the skin look younger, smoother and look healthier.

Safe if the technique is correct

Acupuncture should not be done in one part, especially for the face. Beisel recommends, if you want to do acupuncture on the face you should do it first on the whole body.

"If you just put a needle on the face, it can cause congestion in the bloodstream. Patients can experience headaches and skin that look more dull," he explained. Another thing if this technique starts from the body first, it can actually make the energy in the body flow smoothly and can help support acupuncture on the face.

The acupuncturist will insert a needle of 40-70 needles without the patient feeling any pain. After the needle has pierced the skin, the needle will create a wound in the blood vessel called a positive microtraum. When the body feels this wound, the body will automatically regenerate and repair damaged tissue.

The needle puncture will also stimulate the lymphatic and circulatory systems, so that oxygen and nutrients will flow to the skin layer. This process will make the skin appear more radiant, stimulate collagen production, improve skin elasticity and minimize fine lines and wrinkles.

The results were not instantaneous.

According to Beisel, the main benefit that can be done after doing this technique is bright skin. "As if his skin was awakened from deep sleep. Because fresh blood and oxygen flowed smoothly to the face and revived it," he said.

But unlike Botox, the results obtained from facial acupuncture cannot be instantaneous. It even takes weeks to enjoy the results.

"The main focus of this technique is to create long-term changes in skin and body health. Psychological acupuncture techniques can also reduce anxiety and tension when facing something," Beisel added.

He also suggested that he perform facial and body acupuncture techniques in 10 treatments at least once a week to get optimal results. After that, new patients are referred at the treatment stage every four to eight weeks.

However, if this is difficult because it takes a lot of time, Beisel also suggests other ways to still help treat the skin with a balanced diet and maintain food intake.

"It is important to avoid sugar, alcohol and processed foods. Try to keep the skin well hydrated to stay healthy and optimal," he explained.

Side effects of acupuncture

It is possible that the patient's body will experience bruising after performing acupuncture treatment techniques. However, Beise l revealed that only about 20 percent of people experienced this. If the patient experiences bruising, it will heal quickly.

To avoid bruising, patients who want acupuncture must be in good health so that their healing abilities run optimally. Therefore, people with uncontrolled bleeding or type 2 diabetes should not take this treatment.
