Heart disease is a term used to describe a number of diseases that affect heart health. The term heart disease often refers to cardiovascular disease. In fact, there are still many other diseases that are also included in heart problems.
Coronary Heart Disease
Coronary heart disease is often called heart disease due to years of accumulation of plaque in arteries. The accumulation of plaque blocks the flow of blood in the arteries. These arterial vessels should be soft and elastic, but because the plaque accumulation becomes narrow and stiff so it greatly reduces blood flow to the heart. The heart becomes deprived of oxygen and essential nutrients are needed. That is the occurrence of a heart attack.
This accumulation of plaque in arteries does not occur overnight. Hoarding occurs from a young age. Cholesterol begins to accumulate in the walls of blood vessels for years. When we are old, large plaques make inflammation of the vessel walls and increase the risk of blood clots and heart attacks.
Cardiac arrhythmias Heart
is an amazing organ. The heart beats in a steady rhythm of about 60 to 100 times every minute. However, there are also times when the heart beats not according to rhythm. An abnormal heartbeat is called arrhythmia. Heart disease, which is often called dysrhythmias, changes in rhythm resulting in an irregular heartbeat or a change in beat. The heart beats very slowly or very fast.
Heart Failure The
term heart failure certainly makes you sad. However, that does not mean the heart fails or stops beating. This disease means the heart does not pump blood as well as it should. This then causes retention of water in the body resulting in swelling and difficulty breathing. Swollen body and shortness of breath are the main symptoms of heart failure.
Heart failure is a major health problem in the United States. About five million Americans have this problem. Approximately 550 thousand people are diagnosed with heart failure every year. This disease is also the main cause of hospital care for people over the age of 65 years.
Heart Valve Disease The heart
valve is located at the exit in each of the four heart chambers and the task is to maintain blood flow one way through the heart. The heart valve can be damaged due to various things, such as narrowing, leakage, or imperfect closure. Symptoms of this disease include fatigue, shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat, swollen feet or ankles, chest pain.
Congenital Heart
Disorders This disease is a type of abnormality in one structure or more in the heart or its embryo. This disorder occurs before birth. This disorder occurs in eight per 1,000 children. This congenital heart disorder can show symptoms at birth, childhood, or sometimes until adolescence.
